Processed on your device — nothing uploaded

Rotate and flip images in 90° steps or mirror them horizontally and vertically. It’s perfect for fixing photos that came in sideways or upside-down, and for creating mirrored versions. Everything is processed on your device and you can rotate a whole batch at once.

How to use Rotate & Flip

  1. 1

    Open Rotate & Flip

Load this page — everything runs in your browser, so there's nothing to install.

  2. 2

    Add your files

Drag and drop JPG, PNG, WebP and GIF onto the workspace, or click to browse. Add several at once for batch processing.

  3. 3

    Adjust the settings

Fine-tune the output with the options panel and watch the result update live.

  4. 4

    Download your result

Save each file or grab everything as a single zip. Your originals are never uploaded.

Rotate vs flip

Rotating turns the whole image around its centre by 90, 180 or 270 degrees — useful when a phone photo was taken in the wrong orientation. Flipping mirrors the image: a horizontal flip swaps left and right (like a mirror), while a vertical flip swaps top and bottom. You can combine a rotation and a flip in one step.

Fixing sideways photos

Photos sometimes display rotated because of an EXIF orientation tag that not every app reads correctly. Re-saving the image here bakes in the correct orientation and removes the ambiguous tag, so it looks right everywhere.

Frequently asked questions

Are my files uploaded to a server?

No. Rotate & Flip runs entirely in your browser using WebAssembly. Your images never leave your device, which makes it private and fast.

Is Rotate & Flip free?

Yes, Rotate & Flip is completely free with no sign-up, no watermark, and no daily limits.

Which formats can I use?

Rotate & Flip accepts JPG, PNG, WebP and GIF. You can drop multiple files at once for batch processing.

Does rotating reduce quality?

90°, 180° and 270° rotations are lossless transforms of the pixels. Re-encoding to a lossy format uses your chosen quality setting, which is visually identical at 90+.

Can I rotate many photos at once?

Yes — drop a batch, set the rotation and flip, and download them all together.

How do I flip an image horizontally?

Choose the horizontal flip to mirror the image left-to-right, or the vertical flip to mirror it top-to-bottom. You can combine a flip with a 90°, 180° or 270° rotation in one step.

How do I fix a sideways or upside-down photo?

Rotate it 90° or 180° until it looks right, then download. Re-saving here bakes in the correct orientation and removes the EXIF tag that made it display sideways, so it looks right everywhere.
