Processed on your device — nothing uploaded
Cropping trims away the parts of an image you don’t want, letting you reframe a subject, remove distractions or fit an exact aspect ratio. Drag the crop box and corner handles over a live preview, pick a ratio like 1:1 or 16:9, and download — all in your browser.

Crop to the right aspect ratio
- 1:1 (square) — profile pictures, Instagram posts, product thumbnails.
- 4:5 / 9:16 — Instagram portrait and Stories/Reels.
- 16:9 — YouTube thumbnails, presentation slides, video covers.
- 3:2 — classic photography and prints.
Cropping and quality
Cropping never reduces the quality of the pixels you keep — it simply removes the rest, so the cropped area stays exactly as sharp as the original. Because it also reduces the total number of pixels, a cropped image usually has a smaller file size too.
Frequently asked questions
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. Crop Image runs entirely in your browser using WebAssembly. Your images never leave your device, which makes it private and fast.
Is Crop Image free?
Yes, Crop Image is completely free with no sign-up, no watermark, and no daily limits.
Which formats can I use?
Crop Image accepts JPG, PNG, WebP and GIF. You can drop multiple files at once for batch processing.
Can I crop to an exact aspect ratio?
Yes — choose a preset like 1:1, 4:3, 16:9 or 3:2 and the crop box locks to that ratio. Pick “Free” for any shape.
Does cropping lose quality?
No. The area you keep stays pixel-for-pixel identical to the original; only the trimmed-away parts are discarded.
How do I crop an image for Instagram without an app?
Pick the 1:1 preset for a square post, 4:5 for portrait, or 9:16 for a Story or Reel, drag the crop box and download — all in your browser, with no app to install.
Can I crop images on my phone?
Yes. The cropper works in any mobile browser on iPhone and Android with a touch-friendly crop box, and your photos are never uploaded.
