Things to keep in mind when converting PNG to GIF
- GIF transparency is 1-bit: each pixel is either fully opaque or fully transparent. Sharp-edged transparency (logos, icons, cut-outs) survives perfectly; soft feathered edges and semi-transparent shadows are snapped to hard edges.
